Tasseled roasting sticks

June 3, 2015

This project is so simple, it almost seems silly to share it with you. But then, sometimes a recipe for a salad seem silly too. And someone had to first suggest putting a crouton on top. So… this is me throwing this (idea, not a crouton) your way.

When your backyard barbecue guests see these, they’ll ooh and ahh over the cutest campfire accessories ever to serve s’more makers. And you? You’ll be smiling while remembering the 10 minutes of time it took you to make them.

You’ll need :

Various colored embroidery thread

Store-bought (boring) roasting sticks (I found mine in the store here for $3)

Gold paint

Paint brush

Well, this seems even sillier. Ok. Paint your handles. Allow to dry. Tie your thread through the handle. Trim.

The art of marshmallow roasting is a personal practice. Some roasters perfect a golden crust.  Others go straight for the flames and sandwich a charred remnant of marshmallowness between their grahams. Color code your sticks so there is no confusion.

So… the fire is started. The sticks are ready. Now, if only we had something to roast. Coming soon. Very soon.

I am SO into this! Throwing a tassel on anything instantly makes it better. 🙂
